About
Botond Drahos was born in 2003 Kaposvár, Hungary. At the age of eight, he began playing the trombone. When he was fifteen years old he was accepted in the St. Stephen Conservatory in Budapest. After his graduation in 2022, Botond was admitted to Prof. Jonas Bylund’s class in Hannover. He has been studying with him and Tomer Maschkowski ever since.
Since then, he has won various competitions, including the “Città di Porcia” International Competition in Italy and the Markneukirchen International Competition, in which he also won the audience award. He received an honourable mention in the Michel Becquet International Trombone Competition and was awarded Special Prize at the Prague Spring International Competition.
Despite his young age, he has performed in front of several orchestras many times as a soloist such as, the St. Stephan Conservatory Wind Band, Friuli Venezia Giulia Orchestra, Vogtland Philharmonie Greiz/Reichenbach, Pannon Philharmonic or the Südwestdeutsches Kammerorchester Pforzheim.

About
He has been also on the other side of orchestras as well. As a young musician, he began gaining experience in youth orchestras, such as the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Young, and the Verbier Festival Orchestra.
He has since performed as a guest with orchestras such as the Dresdner Staatskapelle, the NDR RadioPhilharmonie and the Munich Philharmonic.
Botond is currently a member of the Anima trombone quartet, has performed several times with the Hungarian Brass Ensemble and is regular guest in Trombone Unit Hannover.
